About Data & Analytics Workshop: Tell Great Data Stories with Google Sheets and Google Data Studio

Data analytics is the science of analyzing raw data in order to make conclusions about that information. Data analytics techniques can reveal trends and metrics that would otherwise be lost in the mass of information. Data analytics is important because it helps businesses optimize their performances. Implementing it into the business model means companies can help reduce costs by identifying more efficient ways of doing business. A company can also use data analytics to make better business decisions and help analyze customer trends and satisfaction, which can lead to new—and better—products and services.

Part of data analytics is Data visualization. It gives us a clear idea of what the information means by giving it visual context through graphs. This makes the data more natural for the human mind to comprehend and therefore makes it easier to identify trends, patterns, and outliers within large data sets. Here, audiences will get their hands dirty on Google Sheets and Google Data Studio, a couple of analytics tools provided by Google which is commonly used in companies nowadays.

• Knowing the best practices in visualizing data for communicating analysis results

• Knowing what is Google Sheets and why companies use it

• Knowing what is Google Data Studio and why should we use it

Session II: Analyze and Visualize Data with Google Sheets & Google Data Studio (29th January 2021, 19.00 - 21.00 WIB)

• Knowing how to use SQL in Google Sheets

• Knowing how to join two datasets in Google Sheets

• Knowing how to import data to Google Sheets from other spreadsheets

• Knowing how to summarize data in Google Sheets

• Knowing how to find the correlation between two variables in Google Sheets

• Knowing how to perform forecasting in Google Sheets

• Knowing how to create various charts and design dashboards in Google Sheets

• Knowing how to create various charts and design dashboards in Google Data Studio
