Join us with Made Masak to visit one of our food forest friends to learn how to make palm sugar, tuak and nira. Starting with harvesting lontar to the different forms it can be. Experience life, the Balinese way through ethical foraging and learn how abundant the wild plants in the island are.
What you'll be doing:
- 07.30 AM - 8 AM: Meet up at the Powder Room
- 8 AM - 9 AM: On the way to the Food Forest
- 9 AM - 10 AM: Palm sugar making
- 10 AM - 12.30 PM: Ethical Foraging and Harvesting Nira
- 12.30PM - 2 PM: Lunch
- 2 PM - 3 PM: Drive back to Powder Room
This progam includes:
- Transport from and to Powder Room and the Food Forest
- Coffee/tea and Lunch
About Made Masak
Made Masak or also known as Dewa Ayu Made is a Nomadic chef and a forager. She started this career as a chef based in the Food Forest with the goal of reconnecting humans with their food sources and nature, as we sometimes forget that we, as humans, are nature too. Since then, her focus is to constantly introduce her teacher, Nature, to live in harmony with Mother Earth.
She was also appointed as Bali's Local Legend 2023 by Honeycombers. More about her here.
