    Date: 11 August - 11 September 2020 (Due to some public holidays, the timeline is longer. See the class syllabus for detail dates.)

    Duration: 3 weeks self-paced online course

    Time Commitment: 5-6 hours/week

    Location: Online - Discord (communication) & File-sharing platform (details to be provided)

    Class Format

    The course is designed for a fully online experience so you can take it while working or studying.

    What you will get:

    • A set of course materials each week consisting: notes, video and homework

    • Weekly live sessions on Friday 5 PM with guests appearance from practitioners!

    • Critique and feedback from your peers as part of the learning process

    • Critique from the instructor on your submitted assignments

    • Use Discord channel as a communication platform with a dedicated facilitator 

    • A Certificate of Completion that you can share with your professional networks

     

    Who should sign up?

    Beginner or experienced user researchers, design researchers, strategists, public service planners, customer experience & operational specialists or anyone who wants to start learning service design and its practical applications. Prior knowledge about human-centered design approach is a plus.

    Course Synopsis

    Service Design is a collaborative process which helps to innovate or improve services to make them more useful, usable, desirable and efficient for customers as well as effective for client and their organisations. It is a holistic, multi-disciplinary, integrative field. - Stefan Moritz

    What is the role of the service designer? What should a service designer design? We will dive deep into these questions, look into the importance of Service Design and how to apply design thinking framework to services. There will be an introduction to the basic tools that can be applied to innovate experiences.
